Department of Physics
The Department of Physics was established in the year 1996. The department has been working towards fulfilling its mission through a synergistic combination of teaching and research. The department has well well-established research centre funded by DST, SERB and DAE-BRNS.
Apart from handling classes for undergraduate and post-graduate engineering programs, the department has also been conducting short-term continuing education programmes for participants from educational institutions and industries. The mission of the department is to contribute to the training of a wide spectrum of students of engineering and technology by offering relevant curricular inputs related to applied Physics. Research work in the area of Nano materials, Thin film, Crystal growth, Optical Memory devices, MEMS, Solar cells, non-linear dynamics, and Dielectric devices are in progress.
