Guest Lecture

A guest lecture titled “Easy Learning” was conducted on 11-03-2026 for the first-year students. The session aimed to help students improve their learning strategies and develop better academic understanding. The resource person for the session was Dr. Arl Xavier Stango, AP, Department of Chemistry, Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education. During the lecture, he explained various effective learning methods, simple study techniques, and ways to approach subjects with clarity and confidence. He also shared practical ideas on time management, improving concentration, and understanding concepts rather than relying on memorization. Dr. Arl Xavier Stango motivated the students to adopt smart learning strategies that can make studying easier and more productive. The session helped students understand how proper learning methods can improve both conceptual clarity and academic performance.

The students actively participated in the lecture, interacted with the resource person, and clarified their doubts. This made the session more engaging and informative. Overall, the guest lecture was highly beneficial for the students and provided valuable guidance to enhance their learning process. The organizers also express their sincere thanks to the management for providing the necessary funding and facilities, and for continuously encouraging the staff members to organize such useful academic programs for the benefit of students.

Guest Lecture

The Department of Science and Humanities (Chemistry) at Erode Sengunthar Engineering College (Autonomous) Perundurai organized a Guest Lecture titled Chemistry in Engineering Design Smart Materials AI and Sustainability on 06-03-2026 in the 1st Yr. Seminar Hall. The chief guest was Dr. V. Sathish AP Sl.G Chemistry from Bannari Amman Institute of Tech. Sathyamangalam. The event focused on applications of chemistry in engineering design emphasizing smart materials artificial intelligence and sustainability. It was part of the colleges efforts to enhance interdisciplinary learning for first‑year students. The lecture was coordinated by the Department of Science and Humanities under the guidance of the college administration.

Event Name: Chemedutainment

The Chemedutainment program was successfully conducted by department of chemistry on 27.02.2026 to make chemistry learning more interesting and engaging for students. In this program, students actively participated by creating and presenting memes and reels related to various chemistry concepts. This creative approach helped students understand complex topics in a simple and entertaining manner. The activity encouraged students to think innovatively and express their understanding of chemistry through modern digital media. It also improved their confidence, communication skills, and conceptual clarity. The program proved to be very useful for students in connecting theoretical knowledge with fun and creativity. We sincerely thank the management for providing financial support and encouraging the staff members to organize such meaningful and beneficial programs for the students.

Build Your Own Student Assistant Agent

The Department of Science and Humanities (Chemistry) successfully organized a workshop titled “Build Your Own Student Assistant Agent” on 25.02.2026 at the Research and Product Development Laboratory. The session was delivered by Dr. M. A. Sheilk Farith and Dr. Sarbudeen Kather, who provided valuable insights into designing and developing intelligent student assistant agents, along with practical demonstrations that enhanced the participants’ understanding of emerging technologies. Around 100 first-year students actively utilized this opportunity and benefited from the interactive and hands-on learning experience. The workshop was highly informative and well-received by the students. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Management, Principal Sir, Vice Principal Sir, Director of Science & Humanities, Dean of Science & Humanities, HoDs, faculty members, and student volunteers for their invaluable coordination and support in making this event a grand success.

Trash to Technology: Converting Plastic Waste into Carbon for Energy Applications
