Event Name: Industrial Instrumentation in Core Sectors: Scope for the Next Five Years

The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering organized a technical program titled “Industrial Instrumentation in Core Sectors: Scope for the Next Five Years” on 4th March 2026. The objective of the program was to provide students with insights into the future scope and emerging trends in industrial instrumentation across core sectors such as oil and gas, power, manufacturing, and process industries.

The session was delivered by Surya and Shankar, Design Managers from Instrux. The resource persons shared their industry experience and discussed the evolving role of instrumentation in modern industries, including automation, smart sensing, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

During the session, students gained knowledge about advanced instrumentation systems, real-time monitoring, and control strategies used in core sectors. The speakers also highlighted career opportunities, required skill sets, and industry expectations for aspiring engineers in the field of instrumentation.

The program was coordinated by Ms. C. Vinodhini, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The session was interactive and informative, encouraging students to explore industry-oriented skills and stay updated with technological advancements.

Overall, the program was highly beneficial, providing students with a clear understanding of future trends and career prospects in industrial instrumentation.

Event Name: From Sensors to SCADA: A Framework for Industrial Process Automation

The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering organized a technical program titled “From Sensors to SCADA: A Framework for Industrial Process Automation” on 3rd March 2026. The objective of the program was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the complete automation framework, from sensor-level data acquisition to supervisory control using SCADA systems.

The session was delivered by Dr. D. Selvakarthi, Assistant Professor (Sr.G), Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at Kongu Engineering College. The resource person shared valuable insights into industrial process automation, including sensor integration, signal conditioning, data acquisition, PLC interfacing, and SCADA-based monitoring and control.

During the session, students gained knowledge about how real-time data flows from field instruments to centralized control systems. The speaker also explained practical industrial applications and emphasized the importance of automation in improving efficiency, safety, and reliability in industrial processes.

The program was coordinated by Ms. S. Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The session was interactive and informative, helping students connect theoretical concepts with real-world industrial practices.

Event Name: Industry Ready Automation Engineering (PLC & SCADA)

The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering organized a two-day hands-on training workshop titled “Industry Ready Automation Engineering (PLC & SCADA)” on 29th and 30th January 2026, with a total duration of 9 hours. The objective of the workshop was to equip students with industry-relevant skills in automation engineering, focusing on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

The sessions were conducted by S. Manoj Kumar and A. Manikandan, Embedded Developers from PUMO Innovation. The resource persons provided practical exposure to PLC programming, ladder logic design, real-time process control, and SCADA-based monitoring systems.

During the workshop, students gained hands-on experience in developing automation solutions, understanding industrial communication protocols, and implementing control strategies in real-time applications. The interactive training sessions helped students bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practices.

The workshop was coordinated by Ms. S. Priya, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation and enabled students to enhance their technical competencies in automation technologies.

Overall, the workshop was highly beneficial, preparing students to meet industry requirements and improving their employability in the field of industrial automation.

Event Name: ANRF Sponsered National Level Seminar on Credible UAV Surveillance System for Smart Border Management with Real-Time Intelligence and Counter Threat Response

The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering organized a two-day ANRF-sponsored seminar titled “Credible UAV Surveillance System for Smart Border Management with Real-Time Intelligence and Counter Threat Response” on 7th and 8th October 2025, with a total duration of 9 hours. The objective of the program was to provide students with insights into modern unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technologies, real-time intelligence systems, and their applications in smart border security and threat management.

The sessions were handled by a team of expert resource persons including G. Pradeepkumar from KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology; S. Manikandan from Erode Sengunthar Engineering College, Thudupathi; and R. Karthick from SAN Technovation.

The resource persons provided in-depth knowledge on UAV design, surveillance technologies, real-time data processing, and counter-threat response mechanisms. Students were introduced to advanced concepts such as drone-based monitoring, sensor integration, communication systems, and intelligent decision-making in security applications.

The program also included discussions on practical challenges and emerging trends in UAV-based surveillance systems. The interactive sessions enabled students to gain hands-on exposure and a deeper understanding of how UAV technologies are applied in real-world scenarios, particularly in defense and border management.

The program was effectively coordinated by Ms. S. Priya and Ms. J. Nalifabegam, Assistant Professors, Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The event witnessed active participation from students and was highly informative and engaging.

Overall, the ANRF-sponsored seminar was a great success, enhancing students’ knowledge in UAV technologies, real-time intelligence systems, and their applications in smart and secure environments.

Event Name: Process Automation Using LabVIEW

The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering organized a technical program titled “Process Automation Using LabVIEW” on 11th September 2025. The objective of the program was to provide students with practical knowledge of process automation techniques using LabVIEW and to enhance their understanding of virtual instrumentation in industrial applications.

The session was delivered by Dr. K. S. Vairavel, Head of the Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam. He shared his expertise on the fundamentals of LabVIEW, graphical programming concepts, and its applications in process monitoring and control systems.

During the session, students gained insights into real-time data acquisition, system design, and automation using LabVIEW. The resource person also demonstrated how virtual instruments can be used to simulate and control industrial processes efficiently.

The program was coordinated by Mr. A. Amarnath Kumaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The session was highly interactive and provided hands-on understanding, helping students bridge the gap between theoretical concepts and practical implementation.

Event Name: Harnessing AI Tools to Elevate Academic Performance

The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering organized a program titled “Harnessing AI Tools to Elevate Academic Performance” on 07th August 2025, with the objective of introducing students to the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing learning.

The session was delivered by Dr. G. Saravanan, Professor and Head, AI & DS Department, Erode Sengunthar Engineering College. He shared valuable insights into the practical applications of AI tools in education and guided students on how to effectively integrate them into their academic activities.

The session was highly engaging and informative, where students explored various AI-based tools that assist in studying, completing assignments, and organizing academic tasks efficiently. It enabled students to understand how technology can simplify complex concepts and improve learning productivity.

The program also motivated students to adopt smart learning practices and stay updated with modern educational trends. Overall, the session was beneficial in strengthening students’ academic skills and promoting the effective use of AI in education.

Event Name: Unlocking Academic Brilliance with Sobriety and Digital Discipline

The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering successfully organized an awareness program titled “Unlocking Academic Brilliance with Sobriety and Digital Discipline” on 30th July 2025. The event aimed to educate students on the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle, avoiding harmful habits, and practicing responsible digital usage to enhance academic performance.

The session was delivered by Dr. R. R. Pranesh, M.B.B.S., M.D., Consultant Neuropsychiatrist at Gobi Neuro Mind Care. With his expertise in mental health and behavioral sciences, he provided valuable insights into the impact of substance abuse and excessive digital consumption on students’ cognitive abilities, emotional well-being, and academic success.

Dr. Pranesh emphasized the importance of sobriety, self-discipline, and mindful use of digital devices. He also discussed practical strategies for managing stress, improving concentration, and developing healthy habits to achieve academic excellence.

The session was highly interactive and informative, encouraging students to reflect on their lifestyle choices and adopt positive behavioral changes. The program served as a significant step toward promoting mental well-being, academic focus, and responsible digital engagement among students.

Event Name: Enhancing Real-Time Industrial Instrumentation Through Smart Data Handling

The Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering organized a technical program titled “Enhancing Real-Time Industrial Instrumentation Through Smart Data Handling” on 24th July 2025. The objective of the program was to provide students with insights into modern industrial instrumentation practices and the role of smart data handling in improving real-time system performance.

The program was presided over by the esteemed college management, including the respected Principal, Dr. V. Venkatachalam, Dean (S&H), Dr. P. Ramesh, Secretary, S. N. Thangaraju, and Correspondent, G. Kamalamurugan.

The session was delivered by Dr. G. Sathesh Kumar, Managing Director of Selvanayagi Amman Knitting. He shared his industry expertise and highlighted the importance of data acquisition, processing, and analysis in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of industrial systems.

During the session, students gained knowledge about real-time monitoring, automation, and the integration of smart data techniques in industrial environments. The speaker also discussed practical challenges faced in industries and the solutions implemented using advanced instrumentation and data handling methods.
